the brief
For Lexus Canada's Takumi Keiken — a VVIP experiential evening celebrating the brand's 35th anniversary in Canada — Salt XC commissioned Studio Foliage to design a botanical tablescape and four statement installations for key areas of the event.
The creative framework: the four Lexus brand pillars, each one asking to be given a living, artistic form.
The Challenge
These weren't vague moods to interpret freely. Our challenge was to find the botanical equivalent of precision engineering, of iridescent innovation, of craft passed down through generations — and then transpose it into living art.
The Idea
Every brand pillar got its own material logic, developed entirely in-house and brought to Salt XC as a complete Creative Direction proposal.
Natural geometry for the Spindle Grille. Wood for Shimamoku. High-detailed hand labour for Takumi Mastery. And for Structural Blue, custom hand-painted anthuriums — iridescent, colour-matched to Lexus's signature, inspired by the morpho butterfly's gradient from deep to pale.
